Free tool / AI readiness scorecard

Is your business ready to use AI in its operations?

Sixteen honest questions across four dimensions: process, systems, task profile, and oversight capacity. The result is a personalized read on where AI would help you now, where it would be premature, and what to fix first. No email, nothing stored; two of the four outcomes recommend not buying anything.

How the scoring works, openly

Each answer scores 0, 1, or 2; each dimension totals 8; the overall maximum is 32. Low process or systems scores gate the result regardless of the total, because AI amplifies whatever process and data exist; volume and enthusiasm cannot compensate for undocumented terms or paper records. The tiers map to the AAL autonomy levels so the recommendation is checkable against a public framework rather than a sales gradient. Advisors (SBDCs, SCORE mentors, bookkeepers): you are welcome to use this with clients, link it, or adapt the questions; no permission needed.

Common questions

No. The result renders on this page from your answers, nothing is stored or sent anywhere, and you can screenshot or share the page freely. Advisors and small business centers are welcome to link or embed it.

They reference the AI Agent Autonomy Levels (AAL), a free CC BY framework describing how much an AI system does without a human, from L0 (fully manual) to L5 (fully autonomous). The full taxonomy with a self-assessment for tools is linked from your result.

Two of the four outcomes explicitly recommend not buying connected AI yet, and one recommends free tools and templates. Where the assessment does point at approval-first automation, flo.space is one option in that category and the category guide compares it honestly with the rest.

If your result said approval-first

Connect your tools read only and grade the drafts against your real work for two weeks. That test outranks any scorecard, including this one.
